together with the AC & Repro3 Workshop on June 24

We would like to invite you to join us

EUREF is the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) Reference Frame Sub-Commission for Europe. The EUREF Symposium has been organized since 1990 and the scope of the symposium covers EUREF activities, such as the realisation, maintenance, and usage of ETRS89, EVRS and the EUREF Permanent Network.
The 2025 edition will take place at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), a Portuguese public university founded in 1979 and located in Covilhã, central Portugal. The symposium is co-organized by UBI and the Direção-Geral do Território (DGT), bringing together experts in geodesy and reference frames in a collaborative academic setting.

Attendance and Registration:

  • The EUREF Symposium will take place exclusively on-site.
  • The AC & Repro3 Workshop on June 24 will be held in a hybrid format (both on-site and online).

Session 1: Activities of the EUREF Governing Board

This session will provide an overview of the activities undertaken by the EUREF GB, its Coordinators and Working Group Chairs.

Session Chairs: Carine Bruyninx, Joaquin Zurutuza

Session 2: National and Local Activities

This session is devoted to practices, projects, and initiatives related to the implementation and utilization of the geodetic reference system at the national and local levels. We want to learn how individual countries and regions are developing and applying EUREF’s frames, standards, and practices. Therefore, in this session, we seek for national reports discussing activities that have taken place in the past year, as well as individual initiatives, projects or implementations.

Session Chairs: Karin Kollo, Helena Ribeiro

Session 3: Advancing Geodesy with EUREF: Research, Innovation, and Future Perspectives

This session highlights research and international initiatives, such as the European Plate Observing System (EPOS), that are closely linked to EUREF and have the potential to significantly improve EUREF data and products. We welcome contributions that utilize or enhance EUREF data and products, with a particular focus on advancing geodetic methods and shaping the future of geodesy.

Session Chairs: Juliette Legrand, Joachim Schwabe

Session Posters: Open session

Session Chairs: Andrzej Araszkiewicz, Rui Fernandes
